Psychological preparation for the USE

The form of the USE exam for modern school graduates is still a novelty, therefore it causes fear and uncertainty. In such a situation, the children need support from teachers and parents, which will help overcome difficulties and fears. It is most effective to conduct psychological preparation for the USE at the very beginning of the academic year.

The joint work of teachers, psychologists and parents makes it possible to identify in time children who are more difficult to overcome the fear of exams than others and to solve this problem step by step. How to psychologically prepare for the USE, so that stress is minimal or absent altogether?

Methods of psychological preparation

At school, psychological support for the preparation for the USE is often conducted in the form of group and individual classes. To schoolchild developed by the end of the year necessary for passing the exam skills, you need to find out which psychotype he belongs to. From this will depend on the psychological features of his preparation for the USE. There are seven such psychotypes:

  1. Right hemisphere. Such children perfectly cope with the tasks of figurative thinking, but the logical categories they "limp". Such schoolchildren should be targeted at tasks where extensive answers are required. If the child on the USE will cope with them, he will have self-confidence, and he will start with optimism to solve the test problems.
  2. Sintenik. These students, focusing on the general, and not on the details, should develop the ability to operate with facts. Teachers orient the synthetic children to familiarize themselves with all tasks, analyze them, draw up a plan, and only then recommend starting to solve the tasks.
  3. Anxious. This type can be characterized as often rechecking what has been done, asking many clarifying questions on any occasion, so they should be set to positive. Do not constantly remind of the seriousness of the exam, its complexity. The child should perceive the USE as an ordinary test work, where it is necessary to demonstrate their knowledge.
  4. Uncertain. Similarly, the psychological preparation of insecure children. "You can do it!", "You are doing everything right!", "You are doing it!" - these are the words most often heard by the schoolboy.
  5. Unorganized. Children, often distracted, scattered, need a strict time planning. To support them, one should explain the importance of planning the time allocated for the passing of the USE. The child should be sure that he will manage everything and will not forget anything.
  6. Perfectionist. With students who try to be the best in everything, a little more difficult. Their self-esteem is characterized by extreme instability. The schoolboy is proud of himself when he is satisfied with the result, and literally hates himself if the work is not done as he would like. To support a psychologically perfectionist, you can choose the strategy of his actions during the exam. For example, if It is required to give an answer in two sentences, let him write three, but not more. This answer will be better than the rest, but it will not take a lot of time.
  7. Asthenic. Because of the rapid fatigue of these children should not be loaded with additional tasks. The best support is not to make manifestly impossible demands. And in no case can not compare them with other students!

Psychological readiness for the USE is determined by whether the child knows the procedure of passing the exam, whether he can think logically, plan time, focus, highlight the main thing.
