A pyrometer is a very dangerous purulent inflammation of the uterus, or endometritis. Disease is considered one of the most common violations of reproductive function in dogs. Causes of pyometers in dogs
The exact reason why a pyrometer occurs in dogs, veterinarians can not be named. Most likely, it is a matter of hormonal changes occurring in bitches of reproductive age.
The following symptoms indicate the pyometra in dogs:
- oppression of the general condition of the animal;
- vomiting;
- movements of the dog are constrained, it basically lies;

- polyuria or polydipsia.
Suffer a pyometra of bitches at the age of six to seven years. The first signs of pyometers in dogs often appear several weeks after the last estrus. Without proper treatment there is a rupture of the uterus and purulent contents pour into the abdominal cavity, which contributes to the occurrence of peritonitis.
After the diagnosis is made, it is necessary to urgently begin treatment of pyometers in dogs. Very often symptomatic treatment does not have a proper result, and veterinarians resort to surgery - they remove the uterus with the ovaries. The operation is also preferable because it relieves relapse of the disease. With drug treatment, most likely, the disease will manifest itself after the next heat in the bitch.
