Sights of Alexandrov

Located in the Vladimir region, the city of Alexandrov is itself a landmark, because it is part of the famous Golden Ring of Russia . The first settlement, based on these lands, dates back to the middle of the 14th century. Since the XVI century the village has received the name of Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda. A convenient location of the settlement near Moscow made the village of Aleksandrovskoy a favorite resting place of the Moscow princes during their trips to the pilgrimage.

It was in the Alexandrovskaya Sloboda in 1571 that a review of the brides took place, in the result of which Ivan the Terrible elected his third wife Marfa Sobakin. And here after 10 years the king in a fit of anger killed his son Ivan.
