How can I clean the mounting foam?
If the foam has not yet frozen, it's not that difficult to handle. But here's what to do if it stiffened, than to wash off the dried-out mounting foam? The simplest way is to cut and scrape it off with a knife or other device. This can be done if the surface is subsequently coated with a protective layer or is not visible at all. It is much more difficult to determine what to clean the mounting foam from delicate surfaces. For example, if a few drops fell on the laminate or parquet. This surface can not be easily scraped. In this case, you can use one of the following alternative methods:
- Get a drug called Dimexide in the pharmacy. It is sold without a prescription and is not at all expensive. This medicine is for external use, so you will have to work in gloves, otherwise it will be absorbed into the skin. Apply this product on a dirty surface and leave for a while. Foam will soften and it can be carefully removed with a stiff sponge or spatula.
- If the mounting foam has got during the treatment of the window opening, you can use specialized products. Such funds are sold in any construction market or shop as part of the window care kits. These funds do not contain acetone.
- If after removing the foam stains remain on the surface, they can be removed by grinding. But if it is a laminate or a similar surface, it will have to be changed.
- If the mounting foam is on your hands, there is no cause for concern. Still fresh foam should be just properly removed, wiping the skin. And then take a shower and a little steaming hands, treat them with a scrub.
How to wash the mounting foam?
If you can cope with the foam on the surface somehow you can, then the mounting foam on the clothes can make it worthless forever. It is very difficult to remove the mounting foam from clothes and, most likely, the stain can not be removed, but there are several methods that can still save the situation.
- Aerosols. In any construction or hardware store you can buy special aerosols to remove the mounting foam. Before you begin to wash the mounting foam, it must be removed mechanically. Using a sharp object, carefully scrape off the foam. Before using the aerosol, apply a few drops to an inconspicuous place. Perhaps such a tool will only exacerbate the situation: aerosol can damage the fabric or its painting. If everything is in order, apply the product to the foam and let it lie down for a while. After 20-30 minutes, rinse clothing with running water and then wash using highly active powder. If the stain has not been washed from the first time, repeat all the steps again.
- You can try to get rid of the mounting foam with refined gasoline or white spirit. This is a more gentle option for tissue, but the effect is much smaller. Apply a little gasoline to the cotton pad and attach it to a dirty place. After a while, gasoline will begin to corrode the foam. After removing the foam from the clothes, it must be treated with a stain remover and washed.
- Foam can simply be frozen. To do this, put soiled clothing in a plastic bag and send it to the freezer for a while. Remove the foam with a sharp object, and the residue of the stain - using acetone or a liquid to remove varnish. Next, you need to use the stain remover and thoroughly wash your clothes.
