How to whiten tulle from greyness?

New white curtains perfectly refresh the kitchen and make it more elegant and cozy. However, over time, dust, soot and cigarette deposits settle on the fabric and a pleasant white color gradually acquires a grayish-yellow hue. Than to bleach a tulle from greyness if usual washing does not help? About this below.

How to whiten the grayed tulle?

At home, the yellowed curtain can be cleaned in the following ways:

  1. Washing with bleach . Before washing, the cloth must be soaked in warm soapy water so that the accumulated dirt is washed off a little. After that, you can start washing the curtain. The water temperature should be no more than 30 degrees, otherwise yellowness can remain on the curtain forever. If you use a bleaching powder, the temperature can be increased to 40 degrees.
  2. Ammonia alcohol . Mix 10 grams of hydrogen peroxide, 5 grams of ammonia and 4-6 liters of water at a temperature of at least 35 degrees in the basin. Soak in a saline solution tulle for half an hour, after which rinse well with cold water.
  3. Salt . This method is ideal for bleaching kapron tulle. Prepare 3 tablespoons of table salt. Mix it with detergent and pour it all over with warm water. Immerse the tulle in salted solution for 4-7 hours, then wash it in the usual way.
  4. Starch . When rinsing the curtain, add potato starch to the water. Thanks to this, the fabric will not only bleach, but will also retain its shape for a long time. Starch will create around the filaments an invisible protective crust, which will protect them from deep contaminants.
  5. Zelenka . In a glass of warm water, add 10-15 drops of green and let the solution infuse for 2-3 minutes. Add the resulting solution to a container of water and after rinsing you will find that the curtain has returned the original whiteness and has become slightly fresher.
