Ukrainian wreath with own hands

In the old days, a wreath of flowers was an indispensable attribute of a smart costume for young Ukrainian girls and Russians living in the southern regions. Folk traditions are reviving. A bright wreath can serve as an ornament to the bride and her bridesmaids at a wedding in folklore style, and, of course, to decorate the maiden head when her wearer performs at a concert or matinee. We offer to make a Ukrainian wreath with our own hands. The master class contains detailed instructions on how to make a Ukrainian wreath.

You will need:

Manufacturing

  1. Cut out a symmetrical base from a plastic bottle.
  2. From the green fabric folded twice, we cut out a similar shape, adding to the allowance of 0.8 - 1.0 cm.
  3. Sew the fabric folded in half, the front side inward, leaving the patch unmade. The stitched workpiece is turned out, then carefully, so as not to tear the fabric, we insert a plastic base into it.
  4. Using a secret seam, gently sew the remaining part.
  5. We take a wide elastic band, we cut off the necessary part from it, relating the size of the rubber band to the head circumference. Lubricate the edge of the rubber with glue.
  6. On the front side we glue both ends of the rubber bands.
  7. We paste with the help of an adhesive gun on the front side of the flowers. If you own the art of "Kanzash", you can decorate the Ukrainian wreath with self-made flowers.
  8. On the reverse side of the product should also turn out to be neatly processed.

Traditionally, the Ukrainian wreath is worn with ribbons, the length of which should be equal to the length of the hair. You can decorate with colorful silk ribbons the occipital part of your product. Tapes are sewed, bending them around the gum. A wreath with a wide elastic band is convenient, since it does not press on the head and reliably keeps on the head during the performance of the dance.

Also you can make an element of the Russian national costume - kokoshnik.
