In recent years, among the citizens of Russia, such exotic countries as Thailand or Cambodia have become very popular. To go there, of course, you need a passport. And what about a visa - is it necessary to travel to Cambodia? And if you need, then how correctly to issue it? We learn the answers to these questions in this article.
For Russians wishing to visit Cambodia , a visa must be issued. Despite the promises given by the government of this country that from the current year 2014 the visa-free regime will begin to operate, this, unfortunately, never happened. But there are as many as four ways to obtain a visa to Cambodia.
How can I get a visa to Cambodia?
Method one: the visa can be obtained directly on the spot, that is, by flying into the country or any other way of crossing the border (except for border crossing points with Laos).
To do this, you need:
- valid for the period of arrival passport;
- photo 35х45 mm for the visa - 1 pc;
- $ 20 is a consular fee, you can pay only in dollars.
The entire visa processing procedure will take 5-15 minutes, and it is valid for a month. By the way, often at customs, employees from tourists are required to demonstrate a medical card - this requirement is completely unfounded. No fines for the absence of a medical card are provided, so the cost of a visa to Cambodia is strictly $ 20 of consular fees.
Method two : you can prepare and apply for a visa through the Internet in advance. This visa is called e-visa. With it you can fly to Cambodia by plane to one of their international airports - Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, as well as on land crossings on the border with Vietnam and Thailand.
To obtain such a visa you need:
- via the Internet, visit the website of the Cambodian Foreign Ministry;
- fill in the form (required) in English;
- attach color-scanned photos of passport sizes and parameters.
At the same time, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after issuing the visa. Consider your treatment will be up to 3 days. If you consider your request positively, an email will be sent to your email address, which you need to print and show at the border when you enter the state.
Way the third : during a trip to Thailand with a visa of this state. You can safely go to Cambodia without additional problems with the documents - between Thailand and Cambodia, since 2012, an agreement is in force for Russian tourists, smoothly flowing during the journey from one country to another.
Method four : apply in advance to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Cambodia in Moscow. For this you need to submit such documents:
- Passport, which will be valid for the entire period of the trip;
- 3 photos of the passport format (not older than 6 months);
- A questionnaire issued here in the consulate, filled in Russian or English.
Usually the application for a visa to Cambodia is considered within 24 hours, and its validity period is 30 days. It is worth all the same 20 dollars or 600 rubles. You need to pay in rubles at the time of application. If you are refused a visa, the fee is not refundable.
If traveling with a child
When traveling with children, you will need to have a birth certificate with a stamp on citizenship with you. If a child is under 14 years of age and does not yet have his own foreign passport, then at least one of the parents in the passport
After reaching the age of fourteen, the child must have his passport, as well as a list of references from the educational institution, from the employer of one of the parents, as well as copies of the passports of both parents (civil and foreign).
A visa for a child up to six years old is issued free of charge, after - similarly to the cost of an adult visa. If you plan to issue a visa through the Internet, you will have to pay an additional five dollars to the processing service and another three dollars will be commissioned by a Cambodian bank.
