If you think that color photographs appeared relatively recently, then you are mistaken. A hundred years ago, a talented and outstanding photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorsky captured the royal family in the photo.
It is noteworthy that they turned out to be colored. Since then he is called the first "color" photographer in Russia. Gorsky created color transparencies, using the method of three-color photography.
