Nepal - resorts

One of the most beautiful and exotic countries in the world is Nepal . There are no resorts as such, mostly large cities, where the centuries-old history, pristine nature, mountain peaks and religious monuments are closely intertwined. While visiting the country you will discover different types of recreation : from climbing Everest to pilgrimage to sacred temples.

Most popular resorts in Nepal

One of the most visited places in the country is the Kathmandu Valley, which is divided into 3 cities:

  1. Patan, or Lalitpur - the first royal capital of Nepal, which is the center of religious culture . There are numerous Hindu and Buddhist temples. The city is famous for a large number of historical monuments (more than 1000 bahals, monuments, stupas, pagodas and other structures), arts and crafts, handicrafts and various traditions.
  2. Bhaktapur , or Khvopa, is an ancient Nevar settlement with a large number of outstanding and unique architectural monuments. It ranks 3rd in Nepal in terms of population and is the smallest of the three valley cities.
  3. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal, where you can see the ancient architecture, narrow streets, hundreds of stupas, palaces, squares and temples, the age of which exceeds several centuries: they were erected by King Malla. This ancient city is an economic, administrative, historical, cultural and political center.

The settlement occupies the second place in popularity among tourists and attracts them with its picturesque landscapes and amazing nature. Near it are the main mountain peaks of Nepal: Manaslu, Daulagiri, etc. Here live the famous Himalayan eared hedgehogs. The settlement is located in the south of the country, in Nepalese theaters and borders with India (12 km). This is the most important shrine not only for pilgrims, but also for any tourist. Here you can see the ancient temple of Maya Devi, built in honor of the mother of Gautama, a stone column painted by King Ashoka, and an archaeological zone with the remains of the birth of Buddhism.

Ski Resorts in Nepal

In the country you will not find any equipped trails, no lifts, no rental equipment, no hotel complexes. Skiing in Nepal is not a priority, it is more popular track climbing and hiking in the mountains.

True, in recent years, this direction has begun to pay attention. Travel companies organize trips to the mountain peaks, which are quite extreme, because they are not equipped with trails. You can get off the slopes on skis or snowboards.

Athletes are brought by helicopters to a height of 3000-5000 m, depending on the acclimatization of team members. This distance is increased every day. From these points, descent begins on untouched slopes and fabulous landscapes in absolute silence. Here you can become a trailblazer, and in your honor they will name some route. In such cases, a certificate and video recording with your triumph is issued. By the way, equipment will have to be bought on the spot, and then carry it along the mountains.

Spending the night in the mountains at a very low temperature is not recommended, so travelers stop in settlements or large cities. The most popular of them are:

In one of the temples of the city, Brahma once lit an eternal fire that burns to the present time. Here you can see religious monasteries and ancient shaligrams (shells).
  5. Nagarkot - a settlement located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. Tourists are attracted to the mountain range of the Himalayas, clean air, green fields and incredible landscapes.
