History of construction of skyscrapers of South Korea

The construction of high-rise buildings in the country began in 1969. Then in Seoul was built the first skyscraper in South Korea, which was named Government Complex Seoul. Now in a unique 19-storey building with a height of 94 m, government offices and offices are located. Two years later, another skyscraper was built, the height of which was already 114 m, and the number of floors reached 31.

After Seoul, the construction of skyscrapers moved to the neighboring island of Yoiddo. It was here that 61-storey skyscraper Yuxam Building was built, its height was a record 249 m. This is one of the most popular buildings in the country. It houses the Aquarium 63 Sea World, inhabited by penguins, crocodiles, piranhas and many other exotic animals and birds.

The construction of these three ultra-high buildings served as the beginning of large-scale construction of skyscrapers throughout South Korea. The last to date the most famous project was the 123-meter tower Lotte World Tower .
