Hand luggage: dimensions
First, let's see what the concept of "hand luggage" means. This is the luggage that is not registered and allowed to take with them to the cabin of the aircraft. If you bought an economy class ticket, you will be allowed to take only 1 luggage on board. Passengers of business and first class can take 2 places of luggage.
As a rule, the dimensions of hand luggage are approximately 55x40x20cm. As for weight, each airline has its own limitations.
Can I bring alcohol in hand luggage?
Often in shops at the customs, where there is no duty, everyone tries to buy for the family and friends a gift in the form of a bottle of alcohol or perfume. If you travel in the EU, then all goods purchased in Duty Free, you can transport. Bottles of alcohol will be packed and sealed in special bags. For passengers who fly with a transfer, the rule is: you can not open the package until you arrive at your final destination.
Can I bring alcohol in hand luggage outside the EU? When your journey began outside the EU, and then you change to a connecting flight already on the territory, you can take gels and liquids with you to the salon. If you are moving in the opposite direction (transplanting on the territory of the EU with a further flight beyond it), first specify whether it is possible to transport alcohol on the plane. Not in every country is this permitted.
On the 1st passenger it is allowed to take on board: 5 liters of alcoholic beverages more than 24% (but not more than 70%). But all the containers must be with excise stamps, you will not be allowed to take home wine in a canister.
Is it possible to carry medicines in hand luggage?
Various medicines or special types of food (for example, children's or diabetics) can be taken with them, after placing everything in plastic packaging. But you must present all these items at the customs control desk.
So, here's a list of what can be carried in the airplane in hand luggage for the 1st passenger:
- medical thermometer;
- a mercury barometer or a pressure gauge that is pre-packaged in a sealed container and sealed with the seal of the sender;
- Dry ice for cooling perishable products;
- hydrogen peroxide - not more than 100 ml;
- various liquids, gels and aerosols, which are classified as safe. Containers should hold no more than 100 ml. All
packed in a bag with a capacity of 1 liter.
If you have a container with a volume of more than 100 ml, but filled by the rules of not more than 100 ml, it will not be accepted. Exceptions can only be baby food and medicines, products for diabetics. In advance, find out where it is better to pour these fluids and what documents for their transportation you must provide.
To doubtful things include: a corkscrew, needles for hypodermic injections (without medical justification), knitting needles, scissors with a blade length of more than 60 mm, various folding or penknives.
