Translated from Latin, the word "vagina" (vagina) means "sheath of the sword". In ancient times this term was often used in rough jokes. For a long time, the women's vagina was spoken of as something vulgar and indecent. The term "vagina" acquired respectability when it began to be used in anatomy. For several centuries now, the vagina represents the sexual organ of a woman who connects the labia and the clitoris to the uterus. Nevertheless, the female genitalia has never received as much attention as the male penis. Only during the last several decades the situation began to change. The meaning of the word "vagina" has acquired a kind of magic. Despite the fact that the vagina is inside our body, and not outside, like in men, this organ has an aesthetic appeal. And since the attitude towards the vagina has changed, the scientists and the women themselves have revealed a lot of interesting facts related to this organ. Here are some of the most interesting:
- the size of the female vagina in an excited state changes, similar to the size of the penis. At the excited representative of fair sex the cervix of the uterus moves more deeply to the abdominal cavity, making the vagina longer. The walls of the vagina are very elastic tissues that can be stretched extensively;
- stretching the walls of the vagina in an unexcited state causes discomfort in a woman. When excited, the tissues begin to stretch themselves, which gives pleasure;
- in the unexcited state, the depth of the vagina in most women is 9-10 cm, the diameter is not more than 2.5 cm. In the excited state, the depth of the vagina is up to 15.5 cm, the diameter is up to 6 cm. In the stretched state, the depth of the vagina is up to 23 cm, diameter - up to 7,5 cm;
- about 90% of women in an excited state will not feel any discomfort, having sex with a man who has a penis length of 22 cm and a girth of 9 cm;
- there is the term "vaginal accommodation". This term means that with constant sexual contact with the same man, the size of the woman's vagina adapts to the size of his penis;
- in 90% of cases the size of the vagina in a woman is directly proportional to its growth. In women of small height, the size of the vagina is smaller than that of the high fair sex. Nevertheless, there are exceptions;
- during a woman's life, the size of the vagina may change. This happens, as a rule, due to such events as childbirth and abortion;
- the internal walls of the vagina, contrary to popular belief, are very low sensitivity. Less than 15% of women are able to feel the touch to the walls of the vagina.
This confirms the practice of using tampons - women absolutely do not feel them inside, and some even forget about them; - In addition to the well-known sexual function, the woman's vagina provides protection against infections, participates in labor, promotes the removal of dead cells of the vaginal epithelium;
