This process is absolutely natural and it will be necessary to prepare for it in advance. Below we will consider when there is a heat in dogs of different breeds and how this period proceeds.
When will the first heat in dogs?
The time when the dogs begin the estrus, largely depends on the size of the animal. If it is a question of small decorative puppies, the maturity period falls on the age from six months to a year.
Large breeds of dogs differ a little longer period and the first time can come about at the age of the year, closer to a year and a half. Below we will consider the main signs, by which it is easy to determine when a dog begins to leak:
- hormones - it's not a joke, but because the animal literally changes before our eyes and becomes noticeably more playful and mobile;
- you will notice that the female has started to urinate more often;
- as soon as the bitches approach this period, the attention of the males on a walk in the park increases noticeably;
- A little bit of blood appears from the loop, usually the owners notice them on the pet's rug;
- the dog repeatedly begins to lick the loop.
There are three main stages of estrus. The first is difficult not to notice, as the blood spots of the pitoma will leave constantly. After about a week and a half, the second period begins and the bitch is ready for mating, that's why these seven days of the second stage are usually used for mating . After a week of the second period, the third comes, it lasts about ten days. When the estrus in dogs ends, the female is still very interesting to the males, but does not admit them.
The period when the estrus begins in dogs and when it ends, lasts about three to four weeks. Next, you can relax for a while and wait until the second heat begins. And comes a second time in about six months. In general, the period comes twice a year, but it's relative. Everything depends, again, on the breed, the age of the female, the characteristics of its organism.
