Certainly, the colossal contribution to the development of the construction of modern cultural monuments and ordinary residential complexes belongs to architects - professionals, who can realize the most amazing and unimaginable ideas.

In order to show the whole planet, how important is the work of these incredibly talented people at all times, a remarkable holiday was celebrated - World Architecture Day.

The work of representatives of this profession is inextricably linked with construction, which begins with the preparation of drawings, layouts and estimates. In this case, as on the operating table, in no case should we make occasional mistakes. Otherwise, even the slightest defect can cost the genius of construction many human lives. That is why the World Architecture Day every year calls for discussion of problems related to training professionals in the industry and raising the level of education. In this article, we will tell you when all the same celebrate this landmark date.

The history and traditions of the International Day of Architecture

Due to the fact that with each year the number of residents grows with inexorable speed, we are increasingly seeing how new streets, entertainment and shopping centers, clinics, and residential complexes are quietly growing on the streets of megacities. However, this was not always the case.

The appearance of the International Day of Architecture is, by no means, connected with the brightest moments in history. The reason for this was post-war disruption. During the fighting of World War II, most of the cities, settlements, factories, and enterprises were destroyed, which needed to be restored as soon as possible.

To this end, in London , at the International Meeting of Architects, it was decided to establish an International Union of Architects, (known as ISA). The administrative structure of the organization included the Russian Union of Architects, which took an active part in the work to restore the mutilated cities.

A few decades later, at one of its sessions, the members of the UIA decided to establish a professional holiday for all the workers of this profession. Since 1985, World Architecture Day was celebrated annually on June 1. However, in 1996, ISA announced changes and appointed a day of celebration - the first Monday of the second autumn month. This year's International Day of Architecture is celebrated on October 5, together with the World Day of Housing. This combination is not accidental, since the goals of both holidays are aimed at improving the conditions and comfort of living in populated areas.

Traditionally, representatives of the world of construction and architecture meet at conferences on their legal professional holiday, discuss pressing problems related to the conditions of education and work, creative ideas and the introduction of new technologies. Also, the celebration of the World Day of Architecture is often accompanied by interesting festivals, exhibitions and other cultural events.
