Chinese Garden

Surrounded by alpine mountains , drowning in numerous parks and gardens, the European Zurich harmoniously combines in itself and a piece of eastern philosophy, embodied in the Chinese garden. In 1993, it was presented to Switzerland by the sister city of Kunming as a sign of a strong union and friendship of these cities, since then the garden is one of the main sights of the city and the favorite holiday destination for the townspeople. The Chinese garden of Zurich is made according to the main traditions of ancient China and is perhaps the most ambitious representative outside the country.

Description

On the territory of the Zurich Chinese Garden, there are several lakes and hills, and the natural composition of streams, trees and stones is decorated with architectural details: numerous arbours and pagodas, pavilions and bridges, winding paths that transform into stairs and many other lovely details.

As you know, the alpine climate differs significantly from the South China, so in the Zurich Chinese Garden are not all the types of trees and plants typical of traditional Chinese gardens, but here you will meet the main representatives of Chinese philosophy: bamboo - a symbol of strength and flexibility of character, pine - a symbol of permanence and durability, as well as a winter cherry. The central place of the Chinese Garden in Zurich is the exposition on the hill, here, on the idea, one can distract from the usual fuss, retire to find answers to tormenting questions and calm down. With the onset of darkness, the garden lights up thousands of lights, which, reflected in numerous water bodies, turn it into a paradise.
