What is interesting about the Namur fortress?
The fortress of Namur (La Citadelle de Namur), or else it is called the citadel of Namur, is the most monumental and significant structure in the city. The fortress was erected on the very top of the hill, on the bank of the Sambre river, for protection from the Germanic tribes even during the reign of the Roman Empire in the III century.
