Kala Mesquida

Kala Meskida is a resort in the municipality of Capdepera, 7 km from the town of Capdepera (this is the northeastern coast of the island). It consists of a small settlement and a small beach. From the rest of Majorca, the resort is "fenced off" by the Lewant Park and a small mountain range. The town itself is quite small, but it has restaurants and shops. The choice of goods in stores is naturally less than in large cities, but prices are on average slightly lower than in Palma . Here you can buy local alcoholic beverages, food, clothes and souvenirs.

Cala Mesquida Beach

The bay of Kala Meskida is surrounded on all sides by rocks, overgrown with pines and mastic trees - this gives the beach a special comfort. The beach of Cala Mesquida (its other name is s'Arenal de sa Mesquida) is relatively small (according to the concepts of Mallorca) - 300 meters long and 130 - wide. The beach is natural, not bulk. In addition, it is self-healing - there is developed a whole system of restoration of dunes. If you face the sea, then the resort is on the left; the left side of the beach is chosen by families with kids - there is a very gentle descent. The right side of the beach belongs to nudists. On the right side there are a lot of algae, the "family" part of the beach is very clean. The swimming season lasts from late April to late October.

The beach along with the surrounding rocks and several neighboring bays (including the Cala Agulla bay) is a protected area, which was decided in 1991. Here is the largest in the Balearic Islands colony of cormorants and gulls.

The bay is dominated by the north, north-west and north-east winds, because of which ships do not enter it. But this makes it very popular for fans of windsurfing.
