Additional leave for Chernobyl victims

More than twenty five years have passed since the terrible catastrophe that plunged the whole world into shock. As a result of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP, the liquidators of the accident suffered, some of them have already died, from various tumors, damage to the hematopoiesis system. The life of the remaining liquidators, the evacuees and the population of the surrounding areas is not easy - they suffer from many diseases, including disorders of the endocrine and nervous system, oncology. Victims of the accident, laid a number of benefits, among them an additional paid vacation.

Additional Chernobyl leave

Extra Chernobyl leave does not replace the main one, but is given in addition to it. When calculating the total duration of paid annual leave, the days of basic and supplementary leave are summarized.

Chernobyl victims of the second and first category are entitled to take an annual additional paid vacation. The duration of additional leave is fourteen calendar days for the year, which you can use at any time.

Extra leave for 14 days of calendar at one's own expense is allocated to "Chernobyl victims" of the third and fourth categories, with children of minors who live in places of radioactive contamination. This right is granted to only one parent. Payment for additional vacation to Chernobyl victims is carried out by the enterprise at their own expense, and the expenses incurred by the enterprise are compensated by authorized bodies.

Women who are in an interesting position and have the status of "Chernobyl" of any of the categories also have their privileges - they are paid on maternity leave for one hundred and eighty calendar days at the rate of ninety days after the birth and 90 days before them. The amount of assistance to mothers is determined collectively and is given to the insured person completely, irrespective of the place of employment, length of service, and the number of days of vacation that were spent before delivery. Assistance is paid in 100% of the average salary. Additional maternity leave for women who have 1 to 4 categories affected by the Chernobyl accident is given on the basis of a medical sheet issued by the medical institution at the place of observation, for one hundred and eighty days, from the twenty-seventh week of pregnancy.

Provision of additional leave

Those who are entitled to additional leave can use it in their first year of work, after six months of continuous work. Early use of the "Chernobyl" holiday in the law is not provided. But with the consent of the employer, the employee can still provide additional days for vacation. The transfer of unused additional leave for the following year, or replacement by cash payments during the employee's work, is not permitted.

Together with additional paid leave, the "Chernobyl victims" are paid for recovery a one-time compensation. To receive compensation for additional leave and money for recovery, a person with a statement of payment of leave, independently must apply at his place of residence to the body of social protection of the population. The application must be accompanied by a copy of the certificate, which gives the right to benefits, a certificate of average wages, the amount of payment for additional leave. The certificate of the period of additional leave, which shows the total amount of compensation for it, as well as the average salary of the employee must be provided by the employer to the employee. It must be signed by the chief accountant, the head, and stamped. Often because of ignorance or because of unwillingness to stand out from the collective, people do not take extra leave, but for "Chernobyl victims" it is necessary to maintain their poor health.
