Ballroom Dance Shoes

It is impossible to demonstrate perfectly perfected movements if the dancer's clothes or shoes do not meet certain requirements. For professional dancers, ball shoes are not just shoes, but a tool that helps to reach the heights in dance. They can stay in the shade of luxurious stage dresses, bright makeup and mind-blowing hairstyles, but their task should perform perfectly. In some cases, women's shoes for ballroom dancing are even an accent of the image, emphasizing the individuality of the dancer.

What should be the shoes for dancing?

If ballroom dancing or training shoes are selected competently, the stop work will be productive, easy and, most importantly, absolutely safe. It is difficult for an ordinary man to distinguish ordinary shoes from sports ballrooms, but there are specific features between these kinds of shoes. We will stop on them.

Good women's ball shoes must be such that the grip between their sole and the floor covering is correct. They should not slide on the floor, nor slow down the foot. The sole of ordinary shoes is most often plastic or rubber, and training shoes for ballroom dances are different in that they have a sole made of pressed split leather. Outwardly it resembles a coarse chamois or nubuck. It is this material that allows the feet to "feel" the parquet.

No less significant difference is the presence and length of the instep. Thanks to this element, the feet are protected from injury. Its length depends on the type of dance. For example, in shoes for ballroom dancing according to the "latina" program, the supinator is short, because almost all the elements of the dancer begin with a sock. It must be pulled, so the arch support should not interfere. The program "European" involves the execution of movements from the heel, so the foot needs support almost the entire length - you need a long arch support. In addition, when choosing shoes for sports ballroom dances, one should take into account the lifting of the foot. The leg should rest against the insole along its entire length.

Heel height and its shape is no less important criterion. If the shoes "standard" for ballroom dances have, basically a five-centimeter heel, then for "latina" and "Argentine tango", the heel height of 7.5 centimeters is the optimal height. This is due to the fact which part of the foot during the execution of the program is under heavy load. In "latin" it is a sock, and in "European" - a heel. For beginners, coaches recommend choosing models in which the heel is wide enough and does not exceed five centimeters. By the way, heels for shoes for ballroom dances are not nailed, as is done in the production of ordinary shoes, but they are screwed with a special method (hydraulics).

Color Solutions

Practically all footwear for dances is made of three kinds of material. The first one is satin, which gives an opportunity to experiment with the design of shoes, to embody the most unusual ideas. Satin shoes look elegant, effective, but the shortcomings are not without. They wear quickly, and it is almost impossible to remove the contaminants that inevitably occur during performances or training sessions. The second kind of material is genuine leather. It is cleaned perfectly, but it stretches fast enough, and in shoes that fall off, dancing is not only uncomfortable, but also dangerous. Therefore, most often dancers choose footwear from artificial leather. This type of material is considered the most optimal and practical. Artificial skin and cleans without problems, and stretches weakly.

But the choice of color indicates the professionalism of the dancer. If a girl wears black or white ball shoes, then in her skill she is sure. These colors contrast with the parquet, so every flaw in the dance immediately strikes the eye. Shoes of neutral colors can hide an incorrectly placed foot from the sharp-eyed judges.
