Bob Marley was born in a Jamaican village in 1945, on February 6th. His mother, a local girl, was only 18 years old, and his father - a British naval officer - 50. Although he supported his family financially, they saw him very rarely, and the family was difficult to call happy.
After the death of his father, Bob and his mother moved to Kingston. The boy was interested in music since childhood, and after the move begins to develop his abilities. After graduating from school, he got a job as a mechanic, and after a day's work he played music with his friends Neville Livingston and Joe Higgs.
His first song, entitled "Judge Not", Bob wrote at the age of 16. In 1963 he organized the band The Wailers, very popular in Jamaica. The group broke up in 1966, but after a while Marley restores it.
Bob becomes famous internationally in 1972 after the release of the album "Catch A Fire". From next year the tour of the band starts in the USA.

In 1977, Bob discovered a malignant tumor . It could only be saved by an amputation of the big toe. The singer refused her, explaining that he would not look plastic on stage. Another reason was the impossibility after the operation to play football. Doctors conducted intensive treatment, however, it did not help, and on May 11, 1981, at the age of 36, Bob Marley died.
