The assortment of modern bags for carrying cats is amazing with its variety. They are diverse in terms of materials and functionality in general. Carriers for cats are plastic, in the form of iron cells, tissue. They are also intended for the winter period of time (warm carrying bags) and summer (light bearers for cats). In order for hands to remain free when transporting the pet, they use special backpacks for carrying cats, which are also produced in summer and winter versions. The downside of the factory carrying for cats is that practical and high-quality models are quite expensive, and bags of affordable price category often do not meet the requirements of the owners of foxes.
In this master class, it is offered a rather difficult to make, but very practical, carry for cats.
We need:
- section of dense fabric (2 m²);
- foam rubber (1 m²);
- lightning (5 pcs.);
- Velcro (40 cm);
- sheet of thin plywood (20 * 37 cm);
- grid (45x20 cm);
- material on handles for bags;
- sewing machine;
- thread;
- scissors;
- hairpins.
- We make a pattern on a sheet of paper in the scale indicated on the drawing.
- Cut the holes under the net.
- We transfer the pattern to fabric in two copies and in one to foam rubber, then cut out.
- We fold two fabric blanks, insert a foam part between them. We put a sheet of plywood between the outer layer of fabric and foam rubber to the place of the future bottom. We break the layer of the bag with stiletto heels so that it would be easier for us to sew.
- Cut out the grid according to the dimensions in the drawing, leaving the allowance of 1 centimeter on each side. We paste the obtained parts into fabric blanks and also fix them with pins. Now you can stretch the edges of the bag, leaving 1-2 centimeters of allowance in a circle to sew up the zipper.
- We lighten the bolts in accordance with the drawing, so that they close from the corners of the bag, and zip the pocket so that the cat remains on the bag when the pocket is unfastened.
- The upper valve of the bag is attached to one side of the transverse part. Zippers 4 and 5 should be fastened to the valve when you collect the bag.
- We attach the Velcro to the top of the pocket so that the large opening with the net can be closed as needed.
Your furry friend will appreciate the comfortable bag sewn to him by the owner's hands.
Carrying for a cat from a female bag
If you have an old women's bag in your house, then you can also make an excellent carry-over for cats with your own hands if you put a little effort into this business. It is done very simply. From one side of the bag we cut a hole. Under it we cut out the necessary piece of the galvanized installation grid (it can be got in the nearest shop of building materials). Sew it on the outside of the bag. The edges of the grid are covered with a frame of dense fabric - the bag gets a second life and a new design.
Carrying for a cat from a sports bag
The next option is how you can sew a carry-over for cats from an old sports bag. If you do not have such a thing at home, then surely, one of your friends or relatives will have an old sports bag in the pantry, which has already lost its appearance, but is still quite suitable for alteration. In a bag with a soft bottom, as you do not try, you will not make the cat sit still, carrying it for it should be done with a hard insulated bottom. We will make it from plywood with foam lining, we cover with a cloth. Thanks to this bottom, the animal will be warm and soft, and the bag will not sag under its weight. For the windows we buy in the computer periphery store two grilles from the cooler with a diameter of 120 millimeters. In the bag we cut two holes of a slightly smaller size than the lattice. Sew the grate over the hole for the first circle with a nylon thread or a fishing line.
