Everyone wants to feel at home in an atmosphere of safety, comfort, complete peace and home comfort. To achieve this goal, we are trying to design and organize a comfortable and beautiful interior of the living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathrooms. However, many do not take into account the fact that we inevitably get into the house through the hallway, and in most cases still inevitably visit this room at the time of transition from one room to another. And it is in the hallway that we are faced with an unfavorable, difficult atmosphere, caused by the lack of proper lighting.
In the hallway of any house there are no natural light sources. In addition, quite often the owners of apartments face the problem of a small area or an unsuccessful form of this room. And the correct organization of artificial illumination of the hallway is able to perform several functions at once:
- create a comfortable environment;
- effectively highlight the necessary elements of the interior;
- hide the existing shortcomings of the room.
Features of a choice of ceiling fixtures for an entrance hall
The light in the hallway should be soft and diffused. At the same time, its intensity should correspond to the level of illumination of neighboring rooms. Correctly selected lighting will not only provide a pleasant atmosphere in the hallway, but also help create a beautiful design. But the question of choosing a ceiling lamp in the hallway depends on several factors:
- layout of the room;
- type of ceiling surface;
- The area of the hallway and ceiling height.
Unsuccessful layout of the premises does not contribute to creating a comfortable environment. The problem of most hallways is a long and elongated form. For such premises, the only successful solution is the correct organization of artificial lighting. In this case, the fixtures must be rectangular or oval in shape and be located along the width of the ceiling with a stream of light directed at the walls.
The type of ceiling surface also has a significant influence on the choice of ceiling light:
- for the base ceiling, only plate or spherical plafonds, as well as LED strip, will work;
- ceiling luminaires for a stretch ceiling in a hall are chosen taking into account technical possibilities of a material. In this case, the fixtures must be stamped, not cast, and also have a housing made of double thermal rings;
- gypsum plasterboard ceilings have no restrictions on the choice of ceiling lights.
In addition, the size of the room and ceiling height have a significant influence on the choice of lighting fixtures. And this imposes certain restrictions on the dimensions and arrangement of the ceiling lights:
- at large and regular dimensions of the hallway, the ceiling surface should not be obstructed by a large number of fixtures. It is enough to install a massive chandelier in the center of the room, and highlight the necessary decorative elements;
- Fixtures for a small hallway should be located on the entire perimeter of the room. At the same time, they should be small in size and uncomplicated;
- low ceilings of the hallway can be slightly "raised" with the help of overhead lighting devices. But the stream of light should be directed not down, but in the sides;
- at high ceilings the best solution will be hanging sources of artificial lighting .
In addition, when choosing fixtures, you should also consider the design of the room. So, for example, square ceiling lamps for the hallway are suitable only for the interior, decorated in the Art Nouveau style with a minimum amount of furniture.
