Chondrosis - treatment

Chondrosis is one of the most common diseases of the spine, it can be diagnosed in 80% of people over the age of 60. In order not to fall into the category of patients, it is important to take the necessary preventive measures at a young age. It should be understood that the treatment of chondrosis does not restore damaged vertebrae, it will only ease the symptoms.

How effective is the treatment of chondrosis at home?

Degenerative processes in the spine occur for a number of reasons:

Knowing the provoking factors, it is possible to significantly delay the development of the disease, or completely avoid the appearance of chondrosis. But if you have already diagnosed the disease, you can not ignore these points, the more carefully we treat your spine, the slower the destruction of the vertebrae and intervertebral discs.

Treatment of chondrosis of the cervical spine is aimed at arresting the pain syndrome and restoring normal metabolism in tissues. It is justified to use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the form of tablets and ointments. You can also use distracting warming-up products - tincture of red pepper, menthol (drug Menovazine ). In advanced cases, injections can be given. To establish normal circulation, it is important to restore the mobility of the vertebrae. To do this, simple exercise is very useful, which should be done 2 times a day:

  1. Tilt your head one by one forwards and backwards.
  2. Tilt your head to the right and left shoulder, without lifting them. Movement during the execution of all exercises should be as smooth and slow as possible.
  3. Circular motion of the head.
  4. Stretching the neck as much as possible, without tipping the head.

Treatment of chondrosis of the lumbar region also passes in the two directions indicated, however, it is necessary to treat this part of the spine with special care, since it is most susceptible to injury. As an exercise, you can carry out slow circular rotation of the pelvis, avoid strongly sloping and lifting weights in every possible way.

Thoracic chondrosis develops almost asymptomatically and does not require special treatment because of the low mobility of this part of the spine.

For the treatment of chondrosis, tablets of hondoprotectors can be prescribed. These are drugs such as Chondroxide, which strengthen the body of intervertebral discs, which provides better cushioning between the vertebrae and slows down their wear. Patients also receive supplemental calcium and vitamin D supplementation.

Treatment of chondrosis with folk remedies

In folk medicine there are practically no medicines that can cure chondrosis. There are several types of warming alcoholic tinctures that cause a rush of blood to the spine and improve blood circulation in the tissues. It is also suitable for this and mustard powder. But folk healers of the East have developed a very effective method of treating the disease, based on static physical exercises:

  1. Take a large bath towel, not very thick, twist from it a thick roller.
  2. Sit on the floor, place the roller on the floor so that it is at the level of the waist, if you lie on it with your back.
  3. Lie down, check if the position of the bead corresponds to the physiological curve of the spine. The towel should lie under your back at the level of the navel.
  4. Straighten your legs. Put together the big toes, the socks should be stretched parallel to the floor. If you can not bring the socks together, you can pre-tie them with a rope.
  5. Raise your hands up, try to straighten them and put your hands on the floor. You will feel, how the backbone has straightened and the pain has left.
  6. Lie in this position the maximum possible time. Usually in the beginning it's 3-4 minutes, in the future - 20-30 minutes. This procedure allows to restore the physiologically correct position of the spine, as a result of which the progression of chondrosis will stop.
