Composition of the spray
The main active substance of this drug is alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan. Additional ingredients of Timogen spray are sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide 1M and benzalkonium chloride. This causes a weak specific odor.
Indication and use
The Timogen nasal spray is a fairly active immunomodulating agent that can be prescribed in a treatment package in the following cases:
- Skin diseases (eczema, atopic dermatitis , bacterial skin infections, streptoderma);
- damage to the skin, requiring enhanced regeneration (extensive injuries, burns, surgical interventions, etc.);
- massive antibiotic therapy;
- diseases characterized by a decrease in cellular immunity.
In addition, according to the instructions, Timogen spray can be used to prevent seasonal diseases (flu, ARI, ARVI, etc.), with chronic nasopharyngeal diseases.
Due to the composition of the spray in the nose, Timogen has the ability to enhance the therapeutic effects of other methods, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy. It also enhances the therapeutic effect of antitumor drugs.
Dosage and method of application of Timogen
Spray Timogen, as already mentioned, is intended for spraying into the nose. To do this, hold the bottle vertically and insert its tip into the nostril. For spraying, press the "collar" of the bottle head. A single press is equivalent to one dose of the drug.
For children from one to six years of age, one-time irrigation per day, in one nostril, is sufficient. Children older than 7 years to 14 years, spraying produced in both nostrils, one dose once a day. To adolescents and adults, the drug is administered twice a day, one dose per each nostril.

Contraindications to the use of Timogen
Spray Timogen is prohibited for use by pregnant and lactating women. When using the drug in people with sensitivity to constituents, allergic reactions are possible.
It is not recommended to use Timogen in the treatment of steroid hormones ( glucocorticoids ).
