Day against TB

Many inhabitants of our planet know that such a disease as tuberculosis , since ancient times, took the lives of millions of people, and was considered an incurable terrible disease. His bright symptoms in the form of coughing, phlegm, hemoptysis and exhaustion, were also described by Hippocrates, Avicenna and Galen. Until now, this terrible disease, and especially its symptoms, leads to fear of a person, since anyone who has encountered a distributor of an ill-fated wand-pathogen can get it.

In 1982, the World Health Organization, with the support of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, established the World Day Against Tuberculosis in order to draw the attention of all mankind to the problem of the development of this dangerous disease. The history of the International Day against Tuberculosis

March 24 in 1882, the famous microbiologist Robert Koch made a landmark discovery, for which in 1905 he received the Nobel Prize. They identified a particle-causative agent, called today Koch's wand, which affects the lungs of a person, which leads to their serious illness.

Approval of the date of World TB Day - March 24, in 1992 was timed to coincide with the centenary of the great discovery. Thanks to this scientific breakthrough, many healers and scientists of the time received more opportunities to determine the disease and its diagnosis. Biochemists have developed various vaccines and antimicrobials that can kill bacilli harmful to the body and prevent infection.

Soon, in 1998, the World Tuberculosis Day was officially supported by the United Nations. After all, as is known, this disease progresses mainly in developing countries, such as Zimbabwe, Kenya, Vietnam, where the level of prevention and treatment leaves much to be desired. For a year in the world from this pulmonary disease, 9 million people die, of which 3 million were in neglected form.

Every year the International TB Day is held to inform the population about the methods of prevention and treatment of this infectious disease. After all, as a rule, the most elementary precautions, timely access to medical care, attraction to a healthy lifestyle and adults and adolescents can change the situation in the world and save the lives of many people who are exposed to infection.

For the first time, in 1912, in Russia, a charitable action was held under the name "White Chamomile", as a result of which this beautiful flower became a symbol of the fight against tuberculosis. And today in the streets you can see people who sell real or artificial flowers of white chamomile, and the money they earn is donated for the purchase of medicines, for the sick.

Measures to combat tuberculosis

All over the world, in order to prevent the development of this lung disease, special programs are in place to prevent and diagnose the disease, namely, fluorography, vaccination and revaccination of the population. Also, new medical and preventive institutions, sanatoriums for patients are opened to protect people from contact with spreaders of the rod of tuberculosis, new and more effective drugs are being purchased to fight and prevent disease.
