Additional education for children

Currently, parents are faced with the fact that without additional education a child can not enter a prestigious school or university. The usual school program is not enough for this. In principle, additional educational programs for children should be introduced in the kindergarten in order to instill in the child the habit of constant additional studies.

Why do we need modern additional education for children?

Additional education is called the sphere of obtaining knowledge and skills beyond the bound state standard, which must satisfy the diverse interests of the child.

The main directions of additional education for children and young people are:

This is not a complete list of interests of children and parents. The development of additional education for children, first of all, is connected with the possibilities of the region, and also the organization of the case by the administration of educational institutions.

The tasks of additional education for preschool and school children include the harmonious combination of a common educational standard with the creation of the necessary conditions for the formation of a creative personality. The main emphasis is on protecting the right of the child to self-determination and self-development.

Problems of additional education for children and youth

One of the main problems of the system of additional education for children of preschool and school age is the unpreparedness of teachers. There is a certain psychological barrier that prevents teachers from treating additional education, as well as the general standard. As a rule, it is quite difficult for school teachers to break habitual stereotypes and treat the child as an equal.

Therefore, in most cases, additional classes take place in a form of edification that is practically the same as for school lessons. In addition, an insufficient material base is an obstacle to the broad development of additional education in kindergartens and schools. Often, there are no means in the local budget to pay for extra-curricular activities.

In this case, parents are forced to apply to private organizations, giving considerable money, so that the beloved child will receive the desired education. True, high pay does not mean a guarantee of quality. Teachers of the private center were trained in the same state structures and their methods of work differ little from general educational institutions.

Types of institutions of additional education for children

Today, four types of supplementary education are distinguished.

  1. A set of random sections and circles in a comprehensive school, not combined into a common structure. The work of the sections depends only on the material base and personnel. This model is the most common in the territory of the Russian Federation.
  2. The sections are united by a general orientation of the work. Often, this area becomes part of the basic education of the school.
  3. The general education school maintains close ties with the centers of children's creativity, the music or sports school, the museum, the theater and others. A joint program of work is being developed.
  4. The most effective teaching and educational complexes with a harmonious combination of general and complementary education.
