Solange Knowles promised the fans that she would make every effort to return to the scene faster, and thanked the organizers for understanding and support:
"I am grateful to the organizers of Afro Punk for supporting me and preserving confidentiality about my state of health. I am very much looking forward to the performances and the opportunity to start working next year. "
