Facing brick facade

Brick is not only the oldest building material for the erection of buildings, it is also excellent for finishing the exterior walls of previously constructed structures. Naturally, the last type of work is carried out in several stages and requires qualification from the mason. But if you can cope with such a thing, it will help to revive even a multi-year building, give it a chance to get a chic look and stand out well against the background of neighboring street buildings.

How to make the facade of the house brick?

The rough surface of concrete, shell, foam block, monolith should be cleaned, leveled, cracked seams to close plaster. Usually, they try to leave a gap between the finish trim and the old walls, which can be filled with a heat-insulating layer. This will help prevent condensation and keep the house warm. Also note that the brick increases the load on the foundation, so it should be maximally strengthened. Most often, the facing of the facade is made in half a brick, but it is also capable of creating decent pressure.

Sometimes it is required to erect an additional foundation, close to the main structure. They need to be fastened together with anchors or in another way. In some cases, masonry is performed on steel corners, which are bolted to the foundation. Also, do not forget about the insulation of the finishing material from moisture, which can come from the side of the ground.
