Fujairah Museum

Fujairah is the easternmost of the seven emirates that make up the UAE . Not as large as Dubai and Abu Dhabi , it is, nevertheless, very popular with tourists due to the beautiful beaches , thermal springs and a lot of attractions.

One of the most attractive among them is the Fujairah Museum - an archaeological and ethnographic museum, where you can get to know the history and culture of the region.

Archaeological exposition

Fujairah was inhabited since antiquity. Therefore, 2 large halls, allotted for archaeological exposition, amaze with their exhibits. They tell about the history of the area, starting from the 6th millennium BC. Excavations in which these artifacts were found were conducted throughout the emirate.

Here you can see the tools of the Bronze Age, weapons from the Iron Age that came to replace it, beautiful carved vessels, coins, ornaments, pottery. One of the most interesting exhibits is the fossilized egg of an ostrich, whose age, according to scientists, is approximately 4,5 thousand years. As the excavations on the territory of the emirate are ongoing now, the museum's exposition is constantly replenished.

Ethnographic department

Under the ethnographic exposition in the museum are allocated 3 halls. One of them is devoted to spices and spices grown here from time immemorial. Recently, the exposition of this hall was replenished with the attributes of traditional Arabic medicine, including a collection of medicinal herbs.

Two other premises are devoted to agriculture, the traditional way of life of Arabs, trade; In addition, here you can see Arab weapons, clothing, carpets, musical and other instruments, sacred objects. The most popular exhibit in children is the model of the dwelling of ordinary Arabs: a structure made of clay and stones, covered with palm leaves, with a traditional interior including weapons on the walls. In it there are also "inhabitants" made of wax, and even a wax donkey that "hides" in the shadow of artificial trees.
