Furniture - sofas

The sofa is one of the mandatory pieces of furniture that can be found in any home. Sofas can be placed in different rooms for different purposes, form the interior or be a small addition to the already finished furnishings.

Types of sofas by transformation

Depending on the various features, the sofas can be divided into several types. So, it's easiest to distinguish varieties by the type of transformation. There are stationary and non-folding sofas. They are contrasted with sofas-transformers of different shapes. This kind of furniture is an option, which, if necessary, can form one or several berths. Many families, especially those living in small apartments, use couch-transformers as a permanent bed, in the evening they become comfortable beds, and in the daytime they fit into the interior of the living room.

Depending on the way the sofa is moved apart, different types of sofa transformers are highlighted. The most common of these are: sofa-books - when the bed is formed from the backrest and seat, moved on the base of the sofa back and forth. Eurobook - this design assumes that the seat of the sofa should be pushed forward, and the backrest is lowered to the seat, forming a single plane with it, which is a sleeping place. Accordions - a sleeper in sofas of this kind consists of three structural parts. Two of them are located in the folded form in the back of the sofa, and one serves as a seat. The sofa unfolds forward, and its movement resembles the opening of the furs of a musical instrument, for which a similar shape has its name. Sofa-click-clack is a slightly improved form of a sofa-book. Unlike the latter, it has three positions: sitting, lying and reclining. In the sofa, the dolphin uses the following scheme of decomposition: from under the seat, an additional section is rolled out, from which one more component part is raised, it forms a single plane with the sofa sitting.

Types of sofas according to the form

The shape and size of the sofas determine the number of seats, as well as the location of the sofa in the room. Depending on the size, full-sized and baby sofas stand out. The latter have more modest parameters and are usually purchased for installation in rooms where the sofa does not play a major role, but an auxiliary one. For example, these sofas fit perfectly into the kitchen furniture or the interior of the hallway.

In form, all the sofas are divided into straight, angular and non-standard type. At direct sofas all seats are located along the back of the sofa.

The corner sofa as a piece of furniture has an additional design that adjoins the main part of the sofa at a right angle. Non-standard variants are most often developed and manufactured on an individual order. The need for them arises when the room has an unusual configuration, such as a semi-circular bay window, in which a sofa is planned to be installed.

Functional purpose

There are also divans according to their functional purpose. Usually, this is reflected both in the design features and in the design. For example, there are special sofas for children's furniture with unusual decoration, bright upholstery colors. For the living room you can choose more refined and beautiful options, with expensive cloth decorated with patterns. In addition, you can choose either fully upholstered models, or variants with wooden parts: legs and armrests. But among the furniture for the kitchen or hallway will best look leather sofas, because it is easier to clean the upholstery from dirt, it is not afraid of moisture and looks good even in practical and functional rooms.
