USB drives today use everything, but the small size of these storage devices is the reason that their case often breaks. Forgetting that the drive is, for example, in the back pocket of the trousers, it's easy to damage it. One careless move - and the case of the flash drive broke. Do not throw away the same device! If your flash card has suffered such a fate, do not rush to buy a new one. In this master class you will learn how to make a new case for a USB flash drive with your own hands.
We will need:
- plastic blocks from the "Lego" designer;
- knife;
- glue.
- To make a homemade case for a flash drive, pick up several Lego blocks of the appropriate size. In our case, we needed two blocks (4x2 and 2x2). Remove all internal jumpers with a knife, cut off excess ones so that the size of one block that you glue was equal to the size of the flash drive. Wait until the glue dries.
- Cut out the slot for the flash drive connector and place the board in the plastic part.
- After the USB flash drive is placed in a new case, fill the unit to the edges with silicone. This will not only fix the board in the case, but also provide a beautiful backlight, if it is provided in the flash drive.
- Similarly, from the blocks of the designer make a lid, fill it with silicone. Then connect both parts with glue and process the joints with fine-grained sandpaper.
- When the glue dries, the updated flash drive is ready for use!
