How to grow a catananhe from a seed?

When growing katananhe from seeds, it is preferable to first obtain seedlings, which are then planted in the open ground.

The fact is that this is an unusual plant with Mediterranean roots, which means that it is very sensitive to morning frosts.

They are engaged in this in the middle of March. The box or pelvis is filled with a loose substrate and moistened. Plant seeds are deepened by 1 cm, neatly covered with earth and then sprayed with water from a spray gun. Usually the first shoots of a catananha flower appear for 3-5 weeks. When caring for seedlings, it is important to perform proper watering. The plant does not like the drying of the soil, but along with this, waterlogging is also negatively tolerated by seedlings - they can die from black rot.

Transplantation of katananha seedlings is usually done in May, when the threat of frosts completely passes. Note that the flower prefers areas of sun and with loose, perfectly drained soil. Young plants are planted in small holes at a distance of about 20-30 cm from each other. If the flower is transplanted with an earthen lump, it will take root in a new place much more quickly. Requirements for watering are the same - moderation and once more moderation. Mineral fertilizer is not needed.

Seeds can be sown in open ground, but in early summer. Seeds are placed at a depth of 1 cm and gently fall asleep, and then sprayed from the spray gun. With this method of growing katananhe from seeds, flowering, unfortunately, can only be expected in the next year.
