God of wind

The God of the wind was esteemed at different times by the Greeks and Slavs. Each patron had his own, but in general the sphere of influence and strength coincided. Air is one of the main elements of the universe, therefore the gods were revered and brought them gifts. And for each direction of the wind a certain deity answered.

The God of Wind in the Slavs Stribog

Stribog was born from Rod's breath. Represented him in the image of a tall, lean old man, behind whom were wings.   3. Brother Boreas and ruler of the western winds - Zephyr. This god is famous for that, together with the harpy, he created the famous horses of Achilles, differing from others by their incredible speed. Initially, his wind was considered destructive and only after some time it was considered a soft and gentle wind. By the way, it was the Greeks who regarded Zephyr as a destroyer, and for the Romans he was a harbinger of gentle and light winds.
  4. The god of the south wind is the Music. The Greeks mostly portrayed him with a beard and wings like Boria, by the way, he's his brother. Brings Music a moist fog.

Another famous god of the winds is Aeolus. His name is directly related to the place of residence - the island of Aeolia. This god had six daughters and six sons. About it is mentioned in the work of Homer, there he gives Odysseus a bag with stormy winds.
