  4. Seeds of cabbage for growing seedlings can be sown in small containers filled with soil-peat mixture. But it is much more convenient to grow cabbage seedlings in special cassettes on a mixture of sawdust and peat. With this method, seedlings grow somewhat more slowly than in the case of a classic pottery plant. But when it comes time to plant cabbage seedlings in the open ground, its root system remains intact. One grain of cabbage is sown in each cell of the cassette, covering the soil with a layer of vermiculite. After the appearance of the first sprouts, cassettes with seedlings are watered, avoiding overmoistening.
