Among the flowers on the windowsill, succulents are increasingly found. This is due to the fact that the growers are trying to replenish their collections with exotic specimens. A vivid example of this is the cultivation of the adenium flower at home.
Meet the Adenium
Adenium is a tree-like stalk succulent that came to us from far africa. The accusatory features of this plant are:
- caudex. Can be located above or below ground;
- poisonous juice. Appears when breaking off leaves or damaging the trunk;
- large flowers. There are different colors: from white to dark crimson.
Thanks to the similarity of its flowers with a rose, it is often called a "rose of the desert". It often blooms in summer and early autumn.
In the natural habitat adenium grows up to 10 m, and home - only up to 35 cm. On the strongly branching trunk, small, intact leaves grow with small cuttings. Depending on the type they are smooth and velvety.
