Heating greenhouses in winter

Eat fresh vegetables from your greenhouse and it is useful and pleasant. But in order to grow them, you need to think carefully about the heating of the greenhouse in winter. Provide the necessary temperature for the plants in one of the ways described below.

Variants of winter heating of a hothouse

There are the following types of winter heating hothouses:

  1. Biological fuel is one of the oldest methods of heating greenhouses. Thanks to the processes of decomposition of organic substances, many important processes occur: it is the enrichment of air with carbon dioxide, and the moistening of the soil, and most importantly - the release of heat. However, please note that the use of horse manure or other types of biofuel is not enough, and this technique is usually combined with another method of heating the greenhouse in winter.
  2. With gas heating it is not necessary to carry natural gas to the greenhouse - it will be enough to purchase several cylinders. But remember that the price of this fuel, respectively, raises the cost of grown products. In a greenhouse heated with gas, it is necessary to make an extract so that the excess of carbon dioxide does not damage the plants.
  3. The heating of the greenhouse by a burzhuyka is an old method that has already exhausted itself. It is characterized by such drawbacks as low efficiency and large temperature changes, which, as is well known, is highly undesirable for plants. Such a furnace can work on chips, wood or sawdust and is installed most often in self-made greenhouses.
  4. One of the most cost-effective options is the water heating of the greenhouse. This requires the installation of a special system of pipelines and radiators, in which water is heated by electricity, kerosene or solid fuel.
  5. Heating the greenhouses in winter is easy enough to mount air , although there are also purchased models of heaters, more complex. They are mounted in the middle or upper part of the greenhouse to avoid burns of young plants. The main advantage of air heating is the very rapid warm-up of the room. But at the same time you have to constantly monitor the humidity in the greenhouse.

However, not every greenhouse needs winter heating. Having built a greenhouse-thermos in the ground, you will do without heating. And in order to ensure that your plants are not frozen, you need to consider all the nuances or entrust the construction of such a facility professionals.
