How to glue the plinth on the ceiling in the corners?

The main problem is how to glue the plinth to the ceiling in the corners, is the correct way to trim them. After all, two slats of the skirting board must meet exactly and coincide in the angle of the trimming and the distance. After the exact calculation and pruning, the gluing of the plinth does not differ from the installation of ceiling tiles and is performed using the same adhesive compounds.

How to cut the corners of the skirting on the ceiling with the help of a chair?

The chair is one of the oldest carpentry tools, greatly simplifying the cutting of the rails at angles of 45 and 90 degrees. It is a bar with a groove, where the plinth is placed. On both sides of it, holes are made in the side walls, into which the hacksaw is placed, allowing the rail to be cut at the required angle in both directions, without additional measurements. So:

  1. We consider what angle we are going to make out with a plinth: external or internal. We plan which rake skirting on which side of the corner will be, that is, in which direction will the slope of the trimming.
  2. We put the plinth in the stool, press it firmly against the opposite wall of the instrument. We cut off with a hacksaw or a construction knife a rail at an angle of 45 degrees, placing the cutter in the holes of the chair.
  3. The opposite rake should be cut off mirror, relative to the first. The direction of trimming is also affected by the fact that the outer or inner corner of the plinth on the ceiling we are going to decorate.
  4. We try to match the angle. Both skirting boards should precisely coincide on pruning, adjoining without joints and protrusions. If there are flaws in the sawing, unevenness, they can be corrected with a construction knife.

How to make corners on skirting boards on the ceiling without additional equipment?

This method is useful for those who do not have a special chair for measuring angles, and its acquisition is unprofitable, since after repairs in your own apartment or house it will no longer be needed or will be used extremely rarely. This method allows you to measure and cut corners without using special tools.

  1. On one side of the corner we put a plinth on the wall and completely push it into the corner. We draw a pencil line on the ceiling along the outer edge of the plinth.
  2. The same operation is done with a skirting board on the opposite wall.
  3. The point at which two lines intersect will be the beginning of the angle for trimming. We connect it with the opposite extreme point. Then, along this line, you can trim, since the angle will be just 45 degrees.
