How to include Wi-Fi on the laptop?

Wireless network is already used by many, because it is convenient, especially if you have a home of such stand-alone devices as a laptop , tablet and smartphone. And if you are already among those who purchased and connected the router, you only need to learn how to turn on Wi-Fi on the laptop and start using the wireless Internet.

Connecting wi-fi using the hardware method

Almost all notebooks have a button or switch for wi-fi. They can be either on the top of the case near the keyboard keys, or on the side of the laptop.

If you did not find a button or switch on your device, you can connect the Wi-Fi using the keyboard. On one of the keys from F1 to F12 there is a picture in the form of an antenna or a noct-book with divergent "waves" from it. You need to press the desired button in combination with the Fn key.

Where to include Wi-Fi on the HP laptop : the network is turned on using the touch button with the antenna image, and on certain models - by pressing the Fn and F12 keys. But there are HP models with a regular button with an antenna pattern.

How to include Wi-Fi on the laptop Asus : on the computers of this manufacturer need to press a combination of buttons Fn and F2. On Acer and Packard, you need to hold down the Fn key and press F3 in parallel. To turn Wi-Fi on Lenovo together with Fn, press F5. There are also models on which there is a special switch for connecting to wireless networks.

On Samsung laptops , to activate Wi-Fi, you need to hold the Fn button and simultaneously press either F9 or F12 (depending on the particular model).

If you are using an adapter, then you do not need to know how to include a wi-fi on the laptop, since it is always turned on in hardware. But for complete certainty, you can check the operation of the adapter using the Fn key combination with the one where the wireless network is depicted, as we described above.

WIFI connection through programs

If after turning on the button, switch or keyboard shortcuts for Wi-Fi on the laptop, the network does not appear, probably the wireless adapter is turned off in software, that is, it is disabled in the OS settings. You can connect it in two ways:

  1. Enable through Network and Sharing Center . To do this, you need to press the combination Win + R, and in the free line of the window that opens, type the command ncpa.cpl. You will immediately go to the section "Changing adapter settings" (in Windows XP, the section will be called "Network connections"). We find here the icon "Wireless network connection" and look: if it is gray, it means that the Wi-Fi is disabled. To activate it, right-click on the wireless network connection and select "Enable". We try to connect to the network.
  2. Enable through Device Manager . Here, wi-fi is disabled very rarely, or it happens because of a failure. Nevertheless, if other methods do not help, it is worthwhile to look here. To do this, we press the combination Win + R and in the line we type devmgmt.msc. In the opened window of the task manager we find the device, in the name of which there is a word WirŠµless or Wi-Fi. Right click on it and select the line "Enable".

If the device still does not start or an error is generated, download from the official driver site for the adapter and install them, and then try again to perform the actions described in item 1 or item 2.

If the laptop is still in the factory installed Windows, you have to run a program to manage wireless networks from the manufacturer of the laptop. They are completed by almost every computer, and they are called "wirless assistant" or "Wi-Fi manager", but are located in the Start Menu - "Programs". Sometimes without running this utility, no effort to connect to the network does not work.
