How to lay a parquet board with your own hands?

Parquet board is a three-layer product. If the surface layer is made of sawn timber valuable timber, covered with oil or varnish, the middle and the lower are created from coniferous trees, which significantly reduce the cost of production. Parquet board has locks, which, as well as possible, help to lay it correctly. It is brought into the room after all the work associated with the release of moisture for two or three days before starting work.

Of the materials that we need in the work, we prepare the parquet board, a protective film of 0.2 mm thick polyethylene, a substrate, a special block for working with a parquet board, an adhesive tape and a pencil, a skirting board. From the tools we take a hacksaw on wood or electric jigsaw and rubber hammer.

  1. Check the surface for cleanliness and the presence of moisture. Evenness in this case plays no less important role.
  2. We measure the room, thus determining how many whole pieces we need. At the width of the final row, we remove the value of at least 60 cm. If necessary, we cut the width of the initial row.
  3. We lay polyethylene film.
  4. On top of polyethylene lay the substrate, the joints of which are fastened with adhesive tape.
  5. We lay the first board.
  6. We make measurements of the length that remains, and cut off the next board.
  7. Lay the starting row with a comb to the wall, combining the end joints.
  8. Between the wall and the parquet board we leave the distance, which is regulated by pieces of working material.
  9. The remaining part of the board of the previous row serves as the beginning of the next one, if its size is not less than 50 cm. We join the end edges of the board.
  10. We work on the docking of long sides, controlling the distance between the ends of the boards. It must be at least 0.5 m.
  11. In case of obstacles, we use a jigsaw.
  12. The width of the parquet board in the last row is reduced to the desired size.
  13. We take out the wedges.
  14. At the final stage, we install the plinth, using special connecting elements.

To make the parquet board look perfect, you need to take into account the direction of the light that falls from the window.
