Planning a repair on a balcony or loggia, you probably wondered what material and with which technology it is better to make a ceiling. Consider the main options for finishing the ceiling on the balcony.
Than to finish a ceiling on a balcony?
There are always a few options, so you can choose one that, in your opinion and according to experts, is more suitable in your particular case:
- Painting or whitewashing . The most budgetary way. To apply it, simply align the ceiling and apply a finishing coat. However, this version of the ceiling on the balcony is appropriate only at a low level of humidity and the absence of temperature changes.
- Glue foam tiles and wallpaper . The wallpaper on the balconies is not entirely appropriate, so there are tiles left. They are the most unpretentious finishing material both in installation and in further operation. And, despite the cheapness, it looks pretty decent.
- Stretch ceiling . If the surface of the ceiling is uneven, you can quickly align it with special stretch materials. They are perfectly suitable for operation in a balcony, because they are not afraid of humidity or temperature extremes.
- Suspended ceiling . These are all types of materials that are mounted on a suspended frame. Mount it is possible gypsum cardboard, panels, cassettes. What to make the ceiling on the balcony:
- sheets of plasterboard are attached to the frame at the correct height and after that they can be finished with any finishing coat: whitewash, plaster, water-based paint, ceiling tiles;
- a paneled ceiling made of panels can be made of various materials - PVC, wood (lining), aluminum;
- The cassette method involves the construction of an Armstrong suspension structure made of aluminum or plastic, into which square or rectangular panels are then inserted.
