Inflammation of the pleura

The disease has another name - pleurisy. It can be viral, allergic or bacterial. Pathology is characterized by the formation of a plaque on the pleura, fluid and pus in the tissues. The disease is usually a consequence of acute processes in the lungs. Inflammation of the pleura is dry and effusive. Dry pleurisy is caused by swelling and thickening of thin tissues, and with the effusion of the disease inside the pulmonary cavity, a liquid is formed. The latter is transparent, bloody, and in especially severe cases - purulent.

Symptoms of inflammation of the pleura

Different forms of pathology are manifested with small differences:

In particularly difficult situations, there is a darkening of the skin, a sharp decrease in weight and general weakness.

Treatment of pulmonary inflammation

The most common therapy scheme, which includes antibiotics. But initially the real cause of pleurisy is taken into account. For example, pneumonia with pleural inflammation, is treated with pills, and pleural punctures are used to remove fluid from the lungs. Thus, the compression is reduced and the liquid formed is removed.

If it is a question of purulent pleurisy, then by a similar method, with the help of drains, pus is excreted. Pipes are installed in the pulmonary cavity. They serve both for purification and for the introduction of antibiotics directly into the affected area.

Home treatment for this disease is unacceptable, as well as folk medicine. The patient is shown hospitalization and bed rest in a supine position with an elevated headboard. After full recovery is desirable to visit the sanatorium.
