Mousetrap with own hands

In a private house, a meeting with a mouse is quite common, but not very pleasant. Of course, you can purchase a ready-made mousetrap or special poison in the store to get rid of mice . But it's not everything that is being used to use such tools. We propose to make a humane homemade mousetrap, after using which you do not have to get rid of the dead rodent. You can make a mousetrap from such improvised means as bottles or tray-boxes.

How to make a mousetrap?

Before you make a mousetrap, you need to prepare the necessary materials. The lesson author uses a simple grater, an old can of coffee and two kinds of wire (soft of copper and harder for the axis).

1. For the basis of our homemade mousetrap suitable for ordinary kitchen grater.
2. In the end of the lid we insert a piece of transparent plastic from the bottle. Later, during the test, the reliability of its fastening will be checked.
3. From the tin we cut out the lid.
4. We apply it to the base and bend the edges.
5. Using an awl or sharp scissors, make holes for the axis.
6. The axis is made of wire.
7. Make two holes for the cover. We pass the axis and check: the lid should rotate freely on it. After checking, bend the ends.
8. To strengthen the hardness of the lid, we fix the magnet in the lower position. In this case, the magnet was removed from the hard disk.
9. The magnet is attached to the cover by two screws. In the lower position, the lid is fixed very firmly.
10. Now consider how to make the trigger mechanism for a mousetrap with your own hands. A wire is embedded in the lid, at the long end of which there is a fixing ring. The length of the wire itself is about 25 cm, it is better to take the hardest as possible. )
11. The bait for the mousetrap is fixed with a special hook, it is made of a paper clip.
12. The latch is made from a piece of soft copper wire 30 cm long.
13. That's what the design looks like in the end.
14. The ring retainer can be twisted from the same wire or take another clip. The photo shows both options.
15. Now we test the mousetrap with our own hands. Raise the lid and put the stopper. The mechanism turns out to be sensitive. As soon as the rodent reaches the bait, he will immediately tear off the stopper. As a result, the lid falls under its own weight and is firmly fixed with a magnet.
16. As a bait, it is convenient to use a bread crust soaked in unrefined sunflower oil.
