Pool at the cottage with their own hands

In the view of many of us, a pool in the backyard of a country house is a luxury that not everyone can afford. But thanks to modern construction technologies, you can organize the construction of the pool in the country on your own, spending a relatively small amount of money on this.

Build a swimming pool with your own hands - it's quite realistic, but before you buy materials and start working, you should consult with professionals. They will help you decide on the form and type, suggest the best place for the pool in the dacha, and help calculate the cost.

So, let's figure out how to make a pool in the country with their own hands.

  1. Operational purpose. Before you start construction work directly, you need to decide who the pool is meant for - for adults, children or for the whole family. An important point is the choice of the location for the construction - the pool should be located far from the road (in order to avoid contamination with dust and exhaust gases) and preferably closer to the water pipe, so that it is convenient to drain water from it.
  2. Choosing the size and shape of the pool bowl. As the pool will look, it directly depends on your financial capabilities - the more you are willing to spend, the greater the area and the more unusual the shape of the pond. The simplest and most economical option is a rectangular bowl.
  3. Schemes of the structure. When building a swimming pool without schemes, you need to clearly calculate the size and location of hydraulic equipment.
  4. Choice of equipment. For the pool, a water filtration system is needed. There are two types of filtration - skimmer (water for cleaning is picked up by a special device, so its level will always stay 15-20 cm below the sides) and overflow (cleaning with additional capacity, so that water will keep level with the sides).
  5. Excavation. To build a pool for a dacha with your own hands will not be difficult if you follow certain rules. First you need to mark the boundaries of the future basin with a measuring tape, pegs, rope and spray paint. The bottom of the foundation pit should be slightly deeper than the pool, as it will require the installation of technical niches. Soil at the bottom of the excavation should be well tamped and put a pillow of sand, which is put waterproofing (two layers of roofing material on bituminous mastic).
  6. Installation of technical niches. For the construction of the formwork, wooden boards, reinforced with a beam for the reliability of the structure, are most often used. This is the most economical option.
  7. Monolithic filling. First, the bottom of the future reservoir is poured, then the walls with cold seams. To give the walls of strength, use a steel mesh. Install the pipes to drain the water. After complete drying of the concrete, the formwork needs to be removed and a liquid mixture of cement and water is applied to the walls with a brush for whitewashing.
  8. Align the surface. On uneven areas, apply a thin layer of cement and sand mixture.
  9. Waterproofing. This is a very important point that will protect materials from the damaging effects of water. Waterproofing is done with the help of special polymers (MAPELASTIC).
  10. Surface lining. The pool is decorated with PVC films, thanks to which the walls will be shiny and soft.
  11. Installation of equipment. Pumps should be installed as close to the pool as possible.
  12. Overlapping. The outdoor pool at the cottage is a wonderful decoration for the garden, an opportunity to relax and swim in the cool water on hot summer days. But except for pleasure, the owners have a lot of worries - the water constantly gets the leaves and other debris. And if the family has small children, this is an additional "headache". Here you should think about how to cover the pool with a capital structure. The glazed indoor pool at the dacha can be decorated with exotic plants, so you will not only have a place to relax in the summer, but also a real winter garden.
