Rainbow Fountain

Even the most common bridge can be turned into a work of art - you just need to know how to do it. For example, follow the example of Korean engineers who erected an amazing structure - a bridge-fountain. It is about the rainbow fountain that will be discussed in our article.

Unusual bridge

The capital of Korea stands on the banks of the Khan River (Khang), which divides it in half. Through it is thrown 27 bridges connecting the northern part of the city with the southern one. And among them the Rainbow Fountain is recognized as the most unusual: Seoul residents, as well as numerous guests of the city, admit this.

As soon as they do not call the Banpo Bridge in Seoul : both a rainbow fountain, and even a moonlit rainbow! The thing is that this is not just a bridge connecting the two banks. Firstly, it is a beautiful fountain decorating the largest city of Korea, and secondly, it is also the longest such structure in the world.

The Banpo area, where the bridge is located, participates in a project designed for 30 years. It is aimed at raising tourism attractiveness of Seoul and making tourism one of the leading sectors of the economy of South Korea. In addition to the construction of the fountain, this project also involves the creation of the tourist infrastructure of the district, the establishment of parks and recreation areas along the river.

It is also interesting that the fountain on the Banpo Bridge in Seoul contributes to the improvement of ecology. The secret is that the water for the fountain is taken from the river, and it returns to it, but only after passing through the filtration system, due to which it is cleared.

What is the bridge interesting for tourists?

The design is simple enough, but due to its "stuffing" the most common bridge turned into a unique fountain. Such an unusual "rainbow" effect, attracting tourists from all over the world to this place of Seoul, is achieved due to falling down streams of water, specially highlighted. 10 thousand LED flashlights are illuminated by different colors of water, which is thrown out 20 meters ahead of the holes thanks to powerful pumps mounted in the bridge. And all this - to the sound of music, each time different. The program of the fountain contains hundreds of songs that make visiting this attraction a real light and music adventure.

Tourists do not just admire the backlight, but can watch colorful light shows. They pass on the bridge of fountains in Seoul according to the schedule:

How to get to the Rainbow Fountain Bridge in Seoul?

You can see this engineering miracle completely free of charge - it's enough to come to the Bampo area, to the Khan river bank. It is most convenient to get here by bike - a favorite form of transport for many Seoul residents, or by metro (you need to go to Seobinggo station).

Ideally, you need to observe the game of water and light rays from the southern bank of the Khan River.
