A pupil, like any other person, has rights. Education is an integral part of the harmonious development of the individual, and getting it is the right of the child. However, along with this, the student also has the duties that he must perform when attending school. Knowledge of your rights and responsibilities helps to create a normal working environment conducive to successful study, development of a culture of behavior, education of respect for the individual. The rights and duties of the child in school are protected by the laws of his country and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Schoolchild.
Schoolchild's rights in school
So, each student has the right:
- to receive education free of charge and in accordance with the state educational standard;
- choose the school in which to study, and the form of education (in school or at home, under a general or accelerated program);
- respect for one's dignity without infringement or discrimination on any grounds, as well as the right to personal inviolability;
- to study in worthy conditions (a safe environment, in clean and warm classes, with the possibility of obtaining high-quality food),
- freely express their views and beliefs, but in the correct form, without infringing the rights and dignity of other students and school staff;
- receive advance notice of the timing and scope of tests, while only one test can be conducted per training day;
- To learn in their native language and take the course of World History in an objective manner;
- to receive assessments for each school subject in accordance with their knowledge and skills and information on the criteria for their exposure;
- rest during the holidays, in breaks between lessons, on the weekends;
- participate in the management of the school and its cultural life, organized events;
- to access the technical resources of the general educational institution (for example, books from the school library) for free;
- attend extra lessons, electives, mugs;
- freedom of conscience, information, speech and the press, creativity.
Duties of schoolchildren
But each child needs not only to know what rights the student has, but also to fulfill the following duties:
- follow the Charter of the school, attend classes according to the schedule and not be late;
- follow the instructions of the director, teachers, class teacher and other employees of the general educational institution;
- learn in good faith, do homework systematically, expand knowledge, improve skills;
- Carefully refers to the property of a general educational institution, to keep cleanliness in the building and the adjacent territory;
- with respect to other students, junior schoolchildren, as well as to school staff;
- take part in the cleaning of school classes, in activities for the improvement of the adjacent territory and school duty;
- Dress cleanly and modestly, look neat;
- at absence of classes to show explanatory from parents or the information from the doctor;
- respect the right of ownership and understand that clothing, school supplies, etc., located in the school, belong to their owners;
- take care of your own safety and health, as well as the health of others, observe the established safety rules: do not smoke, do not take alcohol and drugs, do not bring toxic and explosive substances to school.
It is necessary to familiarize with the above provisions children who have just started going to school. This will help them to properly build relationships with their classmates, teachers and staff, avoid infringement of their rights, defend the rightness, get involved in the educational process.
