Rodo


Rodo is a picturesque park located in the vicinity of Montevideo , Uruguay . This name he received in memory of the writer Jose Enrique Rodo. The monument dedicated to him is installed in the southern part of the park. Although the park is small in size, nevertheless it is a place of walks for a large number of people.

What to see?

In the northern part of the park there is an artificially created lake, opposite which a small castle with a children's library flaunts. The western part of Rodo is a place for exhibitions of photo under the open sky. In addition to the main park area, there is an amusement park owned by Defenson Sporting, as well as a golf course belonging to the Golf Punta Carretas property.

This picturesque corner borders on Palermo in the west, Cordon in the north, Positos in the east, and on the southeast side with Punta Carretas. In the western part of the park zone is the parliament building of Mercosur, trade and economic union, which includes Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina , Paraguay. Also in the territory of Rodo is the Engineering Department of the Republican University. In the eastern part of Rodo is the National Museum of Fine Arts .

How to get there?

Near the park passes the avenue Julio Herrera Reisiga. You can get there by buses Nos. 123, 245, 89, 54, you need to get off at stop number 192.
