Atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries is a chronic disease. Because of it on the inner walls of the arteries, cholesterol and other fatty substances accumulate. Therapeutic methods can vary depending on the stage at which the disease was detected. At the initial stages with atherosclerosis, even the lightest medications used to lower cholesterol are cope.
In the most difficult cases, aortocoronary bypass surgery may be required. Such an operation is indicated if the lumen in the artery becomes too small.
