But if you just relax the immune defense, this bacterium can "wake up" and cause various diseases. Most often staphylococcus affects the skin, is the cause of nosocomial purulent infections, as well as more complex diseases - meningitis, pneumonia, osteomyelitis, etc.
One of the inflammatory diseases caused by golden staphylococcus and affecting the skin, is considered furunculosis. It is characterized by the appearance of purulent formations around the hair shaft and affects not only the follicle, but also the sebaceous gland and nearby tissues.
