We all saw the picture when water from the outdoor unit of the air conditioner on the facade of the building is piped to the head by a passerby. This is the condensate produced during the operation of the device. And in order not to pour it out so shamelessly, there is such a node of the condensate drainage system as a siphon for the air conditioner. He drops the liquid into the sewer pipes.
The siphon operates on the principle of a check valve, passing the liquid only in one direction. Externally, the drainage siphon for the air conditioner is similar to the siphon under the sink - it is designed in the form of the letter "P" upside down, in the horizontal jumper there is always water, and its discharge is carried out when the far vertical channel is filled to a certain level - the so-called overflow point.
Types of siphons for air conditioning
If we talk about the classic U-shaped siphon with a hydraulic seal, it is too bulky, so they try to "squeeze" it into more compact dimensions. In this connection, the following types of siphons occur:
- Ball - consists of one channel with a float-ball;
- external - a conventional U-shaped design that is mounted outside the air conditioner housing, always in sight, to monitor the liquid level;
- built-in siphon for air conditioners - mounted in the wall below the air conditioner;
- box siphon - with channels instead of tubes, due to which it has modest dimensions;
- dry siphon for air conditioning - locks sewage smells and gases even when the septum dries.
Siphon for air conditioner against Vecam odor
When the condensate is discharged into the sewage system, an unpleasant odor may form in the drainage pipe. To exclude such a phenomenon, special siphons have been developed to eliminate these odors.
Vecam siphon is installed in the opening plastic box, so that it can always be ventilated. Its dimensions are small, it has 2 input and output holes, which allows it to be installed on any part of the system. The siphon itself is made of transparent plastic so that you can observe the normal course of the condensate through it.
