Floris Henerica

The curious and ambiguous landmark of Argentina is Florén Henerica. It is a huge artificial flower that "grew up" in the capital in 2002 and without which modern Buenos Aires can no longer be imagined.

General information

This monument was designed and donated to the capital by the architect Eduardo Catalano in 2002. The creator of the monument associates his creation with the hope, the eternal spring and the entire living nature of the planet.

Florentine Henerica in Buenos Aires is a flower made of steel and aluminum. Dimensions of the monument are impressive: the height of the structure is 23 m, the total diameter is 44 m, and the weight is 18 tonnes. The metal "plant" consists of 6 petals, the dimensions of each of which in length and width are the following: 13 m and 7 m, respectively. In the center of Floraris Henerica there are 4 pestles.

Flower and adjoining territory

The petals of Florist Henerica in the city of Buenos Aires open every day until dawn and close in the evening. Four nights a year the petals of this flower will also be open (this occurs on national holidays , Christmas and New Year).

The flower is decorated with a 40-meter pond. Monument and paths around it in the dark are highlighted: the flower is red, and the tracks are green. On the territory adjacent to Floris Generika, it is forbidden to walk with dogs, which is probably why the area was so liked by joggers and families with children.
